Champagne, Carson, and … Running?

It is supposed to be sunny on Sunday for the Towpath Marathon.  Low of 55.  High of 75 (eek!).  I hope it doesn’t get too hot!

It feels like just yesterday I was bearing the hot July weather for marathon training.

My camera lens would fog up when I would take it outside after a run to get pictures:

I am getting very excited, but very nervous.  I feel like I need to out perform my first marathon and I’m just not sure that will happen given all of the stress in my life during this marathon training cycle.  Nonetheless, I will show up on the starting line ready to embark on another 26.2 mile journey!

Blog Redesign

So the blog has been redesigned!  How do you guys like it?  Ryan did a great job working with me, especially given my awful response times to e-mail.  Look for more changes in the coming weeks!

Rob and I indulged in a little of this last night

This is our “champagne warehouse” at home.  It is fully stocked at all times.  Our friends know us very well and for our wedding they gave us a lot of champagne and made sure we received all of our crystal champagne glasses.

Rob and I actually went out for dinner last night and had a bottle of the yellow stuff to celebrate a new job opportunity of mine!  It’s funny how much a person can feel dragged down by their job.  You don’t realize it until you have a new chance at something!

In other news, I burned a batch of my favorite granola this week because I substituted more molasses for applesauce.  I’m going to try again tonight with the correct ingredients.  It is delicious over greek yogurt and will make your house smell amazing!

Is it just me, or is Carson Kressley so much fun to watch on Dancing With the Stars??!??!!  It’s amazing to think he is only 10 years older than me.  I’m not sure if that makes me old or him young? @RunningDame is now following @CarsonKressley!

My blog entry is featured over on #RunChat today!  Go check it out!

Good luck on Sunday! Don’t worry about trying to out perform your first race, just have fun and enjoy the experience – I’m sure you’re going to do GREAT!
p.s. I heart champagne. Feel free to invite me over to help you drink that supply any time………

Thanks, Heather! I’ll report back after the race–looking forward to the fall colors and the good weather. And, more importantly, champagne is the best ever!! It’s nice to find another champagne lover!
